The Role of the Employment Rights Tribunal
The Employments Rights Act 2012 is the latest labour legislation which provides employers and employees with a clearer understanding of various expectations of the employment relationship. Specifically the Act has provided new employment rights for employees and offered explicit obligations on that of employers.
This 8 part series will ensure that you are properly informed on the contents of this Act. We will discuss the employee’s right to a Statement of Particulars, the introduction of a Consultative Process in instances of Lay off or Short time, the various facts and processes surrounding the Termination of Employment, what constitutes Unfair Dismissal, the appropriate conduct regarding Disciplinary Procedures and the panel specially established to rule on such issues known as the Employment Rights Tribunal.
